    CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY RESOURCES

Florida law requires that all children 5 years of age or younger be properly restrained, regardless of where they are seated in a vehicle. Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate carrier or a manufacturer-integrated child safety seat. Children ages 4–5 may use a separate carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a safety belt. (F.S. 316.613)

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1–13. The right car seat or booster, installed and used correctly every time, saves lives. The resources below help officers, agencies, and community partners get certified, obtain car seats, host inspection events, and educate families across Florida.
