Shaun VanBeber serves as the Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) for FDOT District 6. As the District 6 LEL, he partners with and supports approximately 40 law enforcement agencies across Monroe and Miami-Dade counties in their traffic safety efforts. His responsibilities include facilitating and promoting participation in state and national traffic safety initiatives, serving on state traffic safety coalitions and Community Traffic Safety Teams (CTSTs) within the district, assisting agencies in acquiring and managing grants to address traffic safety needs or expand programs, and coordinating the exchange of critical information, such as officer training, crash data, safety and sobriety checkpoints, and legal updates. He also fosters interagency coordination, conducts training sessions and networking meetings, and implements traffic safety mobilizations, including Click It or Ticket, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, and Operation Southern Slow Down.
