Shaun VanBeber serves as the Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) for FDOT District 6. As the District 6 LEL, he partners with and supports approximately 40 law enforcement agencies across Monroe and Miami-Dade counties to strengthen traffic enforcement and engagement initiatives. His responsibilities include facilitating and increasing agency participation in campaigns such as Click It or Ticket, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, and Operation Southern Slow Down; coordinating high-visibility enforcement operations, press conferences, and public safety events; conducting training sessions and Local Area Network (LAN) meetings; and assisting agencies in securing and managing grant funding to enhance traffic safety programs. He actively serves on state traffic safety coalitions and Community Traffic Safety Teams (CTSTs) throughout the district and manages the exchange of critical information, including officer training, crash data and trends, checkpoint planning, and legal updates, as well as evaluating law enforcement contributions to traffic safety initiatives, policies, education efforts, and enforcement activities through the Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge.
